NEW MONUMENT DEDICATION

NEW MONUMENT TO BE DEDICATED MAY 9, 2009
11:00 A.M. OGDEN CITY CEMETERY, CHAUNCEY WALKER WEST FAMILY GRAVESITE. FAMILY GATHERING IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING DEDICATION SERVICE AT FARR WEST TOWN PARK. DIRECTIONS BELOW.

After the dedication service, there will be a family gathering, program and lunch at the Farr West Town Park. Directions below.

The program will include additional interesting information about the life and accomplishments of Chauncey Walker West as well as stories about his large family, plus we will be favored by musical numbers performed by some of Chauncey's talented descendants.

Within the town of Farr West are many sites significant in the building of the transcontinental railroad and the part Chauncey West played. In May 2003 the town of Farr West dedicated an impressive and beautiful monument to Chauncey West and Lorin Farr as two men the town was named after that you will be able to see.

There is also a site where the Congress of the United States in 1869 determined the two railroads were to meet.
